The weaving is made of rye stems, grown and harvested by the artist from her garden in the Pyrenees.
This piece honours bread as one of the food staples, as well as a strong symbol of sharing and caring. By using rye from the artist’s garden, she links the soil to the food, the raw nourishing plant and the final state of it as bread. The piece can be used to place bread or as a blessing tool, calling for the flesh of the bread to take life to the whispers of the rye’s ears.
